Our service
We connect you with a licensed clinician for a short phone or video evaluation. If the clinician finds it clinically appropriate, they issue a signed psychiatric service dog (PSD) letter as a PDF. The decision whether to issue a letter belongs solely to the clinician, using independent professional judgment. We do not promise that a letter will be issued.
Eligibility
- You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding agreement
- You must be located in a state where our clinicians can lawfully evaluate you; the booking step confirms your state
- You must give accurate, complete information, including about your health and your dog's training
What a letter does
A PSD letter documents a clinician's findings about your disability and your disability-related need for your dog. You agree that you understand the following:
- A letter is not needed for, and does not grant, access to public places under the Americans with Disabilities Act
- A letter is not a certification, registration or ID; no official federal service dog registry exists
- Housing providers assess accommodation requests case by case, and we cannot promise any landlord's decision
- Airlines may require the U.S. Department of Transportation's service animal forms, which you complete yourself; a letter does not replace them
- You are responsible for your dog's training, behavior and control, and for following local licensing and vaccination rules
Misrepresentation
You agree not to give false information to obtain a letter and not to use a letter to misrepresent a pet as a service animal. Many states penalize misrepresentation. If your dog is not trained to perform tasks related to your disability, a PSD letter is not appropriate. We may decline or revoke service if we learn that information you gave was false.
Not emergency care
Our evaluation is limited to whether a PSD letter is appropriate. It is not a substitute for ongoing mental health care, and it is not an emergency service. If you are in crisis, call or text 988 or call 911.
Fees and payment
Booking is free. If a letter is approved, the fee is $149 for a letter covering one or two dogs, or $229 for three dogs. You are charged only if a letter is approved. There is no subscription. Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy.
Telehealth
Evaluations take place by phone or video. You agree to take part from a private place, to provide a working phone number or device, and to be located in the state you confirmed at booking at the time of your evaluation.

Limitation of liability
Except as stated in these terms, the website and service are provided "as is." To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions made by third parties, such as landlords, airlines or businesses, or for indirect, incidental or consequential damages. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us for the letter in question. Some states do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms by posting a new version with a new effective date. The version in effect when you book applies to that booking. Questions can be sent to support@usapsdletter.com.
